Everyday You Have A Choice

The Voice for God speaks clearly through the Course In Miracles.  The Voice also speaks to us, every one of us, if we choose to listen. Call it conscience, the little voice within, God, angels, or the Holy Spirit.  I hear the Voice sometimes in the music on the radio, on cable, and on the internet.

Rarely do I hear whole songs that echo the Voice’s message of choosing Love, Forgiveness, and Peace.  But there is a Danish singer, Jane Meldgaard [Ianneia], with a latin/jazz song called “Every Day You Have A Choice”:

“You say that you’re excused for what you did and what you said.
When other people act the way they do,
You have no choice but lose your head
And you’re the victim of a world that isn’t fair,
But you never say you’re sorry for the times you didn’t care.

You say that you have tried so hard to do what they expect
And all you ever gained from that
Was lack of love and no respect;
And you’re the victim of a game that makes no sense
But you never say you’re sorry for your living through defense.

Every day you have a choice
Between one or another voice
And every choice you make creates your life.
What you choose is up to you
Because no one else decides what’s true
And no one can be blamed for forcing you to draw the knife.

You say that when you listen to the voices in your head
You only hear a messy kind of noise,
And you’re confused of what is said,
But you’re the victim of your own unconscious mind,
If you never really listen to the silent voice behind.

Every day you have a choice
Between one or another voice,
And every choice you make creates your life.
And what you choose is up to you
Because no one else decides what’s true
And no one can be blamed for forcing you to draw the knife.

The voices in your head were never who you really are
But only what they’re fooling you to be.
The silent voice behind the noise is living in your heart,
Waiting in the sacred silent room to set you free.

Every day you have a choice,
Between one or another voice
And every choice you make creates your life.
What you choose is up to you
Because no one else decides what’s true,
And no one can be blamed for forcing you to draw the knife.”

There is the Ego voice inside that speaks of guilt, of fear, or of anger.  The one that talks about who is at fault.  Listen to that one very long and you see what you get: that is what the world outside of our self is like… it came from our collective choices.  We can choose peace, love, and forgiveness regardless of what others may do or not do.

Jane acknowledges that the world seems very real, yet yesterday is gone and has no real effect except what we choose.  She suggests music and dancing as a way to stop the judging that creates the illusion that others are evil and not our brothers or sisters. Besides it can be fun!

“Fear seems real on Planet Earth.
Ain’t easy to embrace
Shining souls forgotten about their home
And about their grace,
Judging themselves with unkindness.
As if forgiveness was not the solution,
Judging each other with hardness,
As if apartness it wasn’t an illusion.

Why don’t you dance a little?
Why don’t you sing a little song?
Why don’t you just laugh a little?
It feels so good, it can’t be wrong.
Words like these are what you wish to say,
But minds like that would think, “Loser’s chat” ,
And walk away.
No, they wouldn’t stay.
They wouldn’t play,

But then at least you can fly.
You can offer this old world a dance with the sky
And then you can try
To release all the starlight that shines in your own eye.

So why don’t you dance a little?
Why don’t you sing a little song?
Why don’t you just laugh a little?
It feels so good, it can’t be wrong.
Why don’t you dance?”

Jane is an artist that believes in her music.  This is what she says on her website:

“During the last 10 years I have had this strong feeling of being led and nudged to get my songs out to a bigger public and at the same time I gradually became conscious of having a team-work with the spiritual world – both in the process of writing the songs as well as in the process of producing my albums.

It is my impression that my songs own a very strong desire in themselves to be spread and listened to all over the planet in order to help the healing and uplifting of the minds and bodies of mankind. I believe that music and lyrics possess a very powerful energy which effects the listener on a deep level, and I believe that the time has come where people on Earth are open minded and ready for music with wisdom, joy and intense healing-potential, that you can listen to on every occasion and every day. For enjoyment, relaxation and dancing. Thus I am happy to contribute with songs that are touching the divine part of the listener and lifting and refining the energy around us.” – Ianneia Meldgaard.

I hope you have enjoyed this artist and can appreciate that she is consciously listening for that positive spiritual inner voice and allowing us to hear it set to music.

I love hearing from the Voice – and hope that you do too.  Enjoy this website and all of the music I have found so far!

These two songs were available on the internet at Ianneia’s site: http://ianneia.com. You can find her two albums, Marble and Feathers and Heart Choice, on that site as well as https://empoweryou.dk/produkt-kategori/empowering-songs-for-the-soul/. The singing is in English.
